parusang kamatayan

Biktima lahat – mahirap, mayaman, matanda man o bata

Tao tayo, may pagkakamali, sadyang may kahinaan

Who Am I, Lord?

Who Am I, Lord?
By: John B. Juat

Who am I, Lord, that you have called me?
Your creature that is sinful, weak and lowly
Am I capable to minister to the Church, your family?
Can I efficiently shepherd your flock? I feel unworthy

Who am I, Lord, that you have called me Son?
I have been unfaithful, evil things I have done
Yet you tirelessly seek me, and then to me you run
Then embrace me no matter how far from you i’ve gone

Who am I, Lord, that you’ve shown me mercy?
Despite my ungrateful heart and my iniquity
Why did you choose to suffer and die in Calvary?
Am I really worth redeeming? What’s so great about me?

Who am I, Lord, that you have called me friend?
Despite the countless times your heart I offend
Who am I that my body is a temple of the Spirit You sent
The Paraclete, the Helper who’ll guide me ‘til the end

Who am I, Lord, that you desire with me one-flesh union
As You give your body, blood, soul and divinity in Communion?
Who am I, that you love me with intense passion
And always hear my prayers and provides for my supplication?

Who am I, Lord, that you’ve given me great dignity?
From your own image and likeness, you formed me.
Who am I, that my end is to be with You for eternity?
Participating in the overflowing love of the Trinity

at paraan upang sila'y maging mabuting mamamayan

diborsyo, rh law, same sex marriage dapat 'di suportahan

Eucharist: Source and Summit of God's Love and Mercy

It is saddening when we Catholics fail to see
That the Eucharist is one great mystery
Are we punctual? Do we participate actively?
Do we make it a point to dress appropriately?

We have to understand that the mass is truly a celebration
Of the supreme sacrifice of Jesus which merited our salvation
When as a community, we pray to God in adoration
We are actually in the company of Angels who glorify God in exultation

In the mass, we relive the very passion of Jesus in Calvary
In essence, the same, though the sacrifice unbloody
Unfathomable to men, but God makes it a reality
That in consecration, the piece of bread becomes Christ's body

The Eucharist is indeed the source and summit of God's love and mercy
Wherein we can receive Jesus fully: body, blood, soul and divinity
Whenever we receive Him, we are truly united with Jesus momentarily
Do we come to treasure this great gift of God to humanity?

So the next time we receive communion, let's make sure we are worthy
That we are there on time, that from mortal sin our soul is free
Let us try to receive Jesus next time with a lot more reverence and piety
So that one day we see Jesus' true face in Heaven for all eternity

mensahe sa kapwa ko kabataan

MENSAHE SA KAPWA KO KABATAAN
ni: John Walter B. Juat

Isang leksyon na aking natutunan
Sa aking pagtatapos sa UP Diliman
Ay ang maging matapang at ipaglaban
Ano man ang iyong pinaniniwalaan

Kung papansinin ninyo mabuti, may natatanging tema
Mapa-teleserye, mapa-sine, sayaw o musika
Imoralidad, pangangaliwa, pagwasak ng pamilya
Kung tayo ay tumahimik, wala tayong mapapala

Maging malikhain, masipag at mapamaraan

Maging matapang, kabataan, at umaksyon

Guro: Ang Dakilang Propesyon

Guro: Ang Dakilang Propesyon

Response to "a retreatant's prayer"

Response to A Retreatant's Prayer
by: John Walter B. Juat

Thank you my child for answering My call
I long to lavish my love on you and give you my all
I'm here to strengthen you each time you fall
So that one day you'll be able to stand up tall

I love you unconditionally; I want you to be happy
I want you to choose to love me freely
trust in Me my child; trust in me fully
For I love you, child, as my one and only

Soar high like an eagle above the sky
I long for you to freely fly
Let go of the rotten meat, with it you'll die
It may be difficult, but I'll help as long as you try

I know sometimes you feel like a failure
But don't be discouraged; I love you, that's for sure
To love and to save will always be my nature
Love me, my child, and I'll give you a fruitful future

Carry on with your struggles and persevere
Be assured that your prayers, I truly hear
I am not a distant God, for I am right here
I am also a Loving Father, there's nothing to fear

Though you are blinded by sin, I can regain your sight
Just learn to be humble, don't rely on your own might
Ask for help humbly and you'll win the spiritual fight
Turn to Me, my son, I'll lead you to the light

Love Confession, my child, experience my mercy
For I will never stop forgiving you, no matter the gravity
Just always be sincere, ask for the grace humbly
And I will surely give you joy, peace and serenity

I love you and you are so dear to me
My beloved child, you always will be

a retreatant's prayer

A Retreatant's Prayer
by: John Walter B. Juat

My Lord and my God, my Perfect Father,
I wish to spend these days in silent prayer
I want to know you more, divine teacher
Intercede for me, my Blessed Mother

I come to you, Lord God, full of humility
I offer you everything; I want to be empty
I lay down my entire being, even what pleases me
So You can change my heart completely

I come to you Lord, wanting to know your will
Your divine mission, o God, I want to fulfill
Teach me to ponder; teach me to be still
That I may come to understand Your will

For the sins I've committed, Lord I'm heartily sorry
Never allow me again to take sin lightly
Let my contrition be full of sincerity
So You can pour your grace on me abundantly

Increase in me Lord my faith, hope and charity
Cast away my fears, doubts and anxiety
Strengthen my will; deepen my piety
That I may be the best person I can be

There is one thing, Lord, I hope and pray
That I may love You more each day
Make me always imitate your way
And in your presence, make me always stay

In this retreat, Lord, I ask for the special grace
That my life will give you glory and praise
Make me love You until the end of my days
So that I may gaze at You forever face to face

AMEN.

Isa itong napakaganda at mahalagang paraan

Tayo'y magrosaryo, magumpisal at magsimba

WAGING WAR

WAGING WAR
(a poem inspired by SAFE)
by: John B. Juat

prepare yourselves, soldiers, the enemy is near
put on your armor, your shield, and your gear
march toward the front line, there is nothing to fear
for we fight with our Master and King, He's right here

participate in Mass, go to Confession, spend time in prayer
read His Word and have a devotion to our Blessed Mother
fast and offer sacrifices, show your love to one another
for we need to be equipped, we need to be stronger

once you are equipped, go and spread the word
fear not what others think or say, let your voice be heard
call out for reinforcements, though we may be outnumbered
for there are a lot of souls out there waiting to be gathered

swing the sword against value-free sex education and pornography
be on the offensive against relativism and the new age ideology
shoot the arrow against abortion and the contraceptive mentality
strike the spear against divorce and the others that threatens the family

stand your ground and defend life from the moment of conception
be steadfast and fight for marriage as a sacred institution
be watchful and defend the truth that sex is for union and procreation
be on guard and spread that the people is the true wealth of the nation

be brave, Christian soldier, for this battle may be long
because the enemy is real and the enemy is very strong
but persevere, for this battle is between right and wrong
and since we fight with Him, in the end we'll sing our victory song

Born God's Way

BORN GOD’S WAY
A message of hope to people who struggle to accept their sexuality
John B. Juat

On the 6th day of creation, God made man and woman
To go forth and multiply and to toil the land
God gave them freedom to do what they can
Except to eat the fruit of the tree, which he banned

Just like Adam and Eve, we are born God’s way
One woman, one man, complementary and made for one other
This perfect design for sexuality, we ought to obey
For He cannot make a mistake – our perfect Creator and Father

In this society filled with sin and confusion,
We forget who we are, our person, our sexuality
We brand ourselves as LGBT, based on our attraction
We can only be man or woman, we have no other identity.

No matter how strong the attraction gets, remember to be pure
And always ask for the grace to be guided by His loving hand
Do this and you won’t be judged, that I can assure
He’ll even bless you for trying to fight. He will understand.

Just as people say, God has given us the power to be free
To choose to fall to our weaknesses or to overcome it
Do not accept your struggles as your destiny, have some humility
And for sure, He will help you and give you merit.

Be not afraid to fight and struggle for you can persevere
Just remember who you are. Your identity and dignity
To those who say you cannot fight it, don’t lend them your ear
For you, friend, with God’s grace will appreciate your sexuality

CITY OF JESUS 2014, Tanay, Rizal

JESU POLIS 2014
Gawa ni: John Walter B. Juat

Bago pa man kami sa EPIC PARC pumunta

Nagtipon muna kami at nag isip, bago tuluyan mag harana

Tunay ngang masaya tumulong kahit di namin kilala

A NEW YEAR'S PRAYER

A NEW YEAR'S PRAYER
by: John B. Juat

Walk with me, O God, and lead me
As I put my trust in You completely
For my past sins, make me truly sorry
and make me choose to love You freely

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, that I may see
And understand exactly what is Your will for me
May my actions, words and thoughts give you glory
Make my Yes to Your will be just like that of Mary

Do what you will, O God, and let it be
Empty me, Lord, and increase my humility
Increase my faith, increase my charity
Increase my hope, and me grow closer to Thee

I turn to you to intercede for me, my Mother and Lady
Take me by the hand and lead the way for me
Teach me, my Mother, how to love and how to be Holy
Until the time I gaze upon your Son's face for eternity

MERCY AND COMPASSION

MERCY AND COMPASSION
by: John Juat

Do you ever feel down, depressed and lonely?
Is your heart filled with heaviness and anxiety?
Are you discouraged by the sins you do repetitively?
Then it's about time you reflect on God's mercy

Recall once again the poor woman caught it adultery
Jesus came to her side and treated her with mercy
Instead of being stoned, Jesus forgave her completely
It is truly great to ponder on this mystery

Let us also take advantage of Jesus' love for humanity
By loving and going to Confession frequently
For in every time we confess our sins sincerely
We are embraced by Jesus, forgiven and accepted wholeheartedly

How then do we minister to the weak and the needy?
The abandoned, the sick, the poor and the lonely
Console them, spend time with them and see their dignity
For in the eyes of our Lord Jesus, we are but one family

Let us obey Jesus' words on how to show mercy
By clothing the naked and feeding the hungry
Visiting the sick and imprisoned, showing them charity
For whatsoever you do to the least, you do to Me

Let us show love to the last, least and lost of society
By empathizing with them, by entering into their misery
No matter how little we think we have, choose to give freely
Without seeking anything in return, and in humility

MODESTY

MODESTY
By: John Walter B. Juat

One way to live the virtue of Chastity
Is by practicing a similar virtue: Modesty
It seems it’s losing its meaning in society
Everything seems to be so earthly

Modesty is when one dresses up appropriately
Avoiding wearing skimpy shorts or spaghetti
It is not at all wrong to dress comfortably
But remember to do so with decency

In practicing modesty, you can still dress fashionably
It’s not something limiting, you can still choose freely
It’s not essential that the skirt is below the knee
But be wise, don’t be revealing and dress responsibly

Practicing modesty, one no longer needs to worry
How people will treat you, what they will see
‘Coz once you’re covered, what is emphasized is beauty
Your true inner beauty and not your body

Modesty is also a training ground for fidelity
Because it allows you to see the other with clarity
Though it takes a lot of sacrifice and self-mastery
It trains yourself and the other to love purely

If you want others to treat you respectfully
To accept you as you are, not only your sexuality
Make a choice to struggle to live modestly
It’s a right choice. For sure you won’t feel sorry

Finally, modesty is a virtue that protects purity
And about seeing yourself with great dignity

Prayer for Peace for the Persecuted Christians

Prayer for Peace for the Persecuted Christians
by: John B. Juat

Father God, King of peace, hear my prayer
To stop this systematic Christian massacre
Hear my plea, my perfect Heavenly Father
Intercede for me, my loving Blessed Mother

Look upon us with Mercy, my dear Mama Mary
Put an end to so much crimes against humanity
Protect the Christians, mother, those who chose to flee
Give them food, shelter, love and security

I beg you, dear Jesus, stop this persecution
Men, women, even children experienced execution
Raped, beheaded, hung, a continuous annihilation
Lord Jesus, please, have mercy and give us a solution

Asking the intercession of all the saints, hear my cry
I don’t understand this persecution, I can only ask why
Whisper my intentions to my Father, God on High
That this will soon end and nobody else has to die

Father God, accept this prayer for peace I offer you
I trust that in your great love, my prayer will come true

AMEN

Chastity

Chastity
By: John B. Juat

In this day and age, how can one practice Chastity?
Is it even possible to live purely?
Yes. Go against the dictates of society
Go and struggle to be chaste, though it's not easy

Is it possible to overcome masturbation
Especially if it has become an addiction?
Yes. Be brave and go often to Confession
And receive our Lord frequently in Communion

What about pornography, is it okay?
What about to read the book 50 Shades of Grey?
No. Go against it in every possible way
Ask help from Mary. She won't allow us to stray

For young couples deeply in love, can sex wait?
If they wait for marriage, it might be too late
No. Trust God and in His plans cooperate
Save your body and soul for that sacred date

Struggle young people, bravely put up this fight
Don't take it lightly. See it as black and white
Be strong. Be strong. We will be guided by the Light
To carefully guard our thoughts, hearts, words and our sight

Go against the flow and feel no sense of shame
Run away from temptation and call on His Name
Make an effort to make our sexual tendencies tame
And allow us to be consumed by His loving flame

Do not ever forget chastity is a choice
Possible only if we listen to His voice

The Holy Trinity

The Holy Trinity
by: John B. Juat

Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one great mystery
One God in three persons, equal in majesty
Together sharing in the fullness of glory
Bounded perfectly by love to form the Trinity

Who is God the Father? He is the Maker
And of all our needs, He's the Great Provider
He's all knowing, all present and the God of Power
Though He's also the loving, caring, forgiving Father

The Son is Jesus, the Savior of humanity
He came to us to break the bonds of slavery
He spilled His precious blood so that we could be free
To be with Him someday for all eternity

The Spirit is the Paraclete and the Helper
His fruits and gifts are given to make us better
From the stains of sin, He's known to be the Cleanser
He's responsible to prepare us to meet the Father

Father, Son and Holy Spirit, one great mystery
One God in three persons, equal in majesty
Together sharing in the fullness of glory
Bounded perfectly by love to form the Trinity

THANK YOU

THANK YOU
by: John B. Juat

I thank the Lord for giving me

Thousands of reasons to be happy
Hundreds of little miracles which i ought to see
A trustworthy friend that brings out the best in me
New opportunities to prove how much I love Thee
Knowing people who are examples of real charity

You're the one I'm especially thankful for
One big miracle; now I can't ask for more
Understanding and patient even when I close my door

Seventeen years have already been through
Only have I been truly happy the moment I found you

Many are the things i wish to say
Under the protection of God, may you always stay
Continue being who you are; love and serve day to day
Happiness for you, I shall always pray

Thank you, Gabbie

Thank you Lord for the gift of our dear Gabbie
For giving her a loving and wonderful family
Mitch, John, Matthew, you are truly blessed greatly
Because you have raised her to be the best that she could be

Gabbie, you have blessed us with your simplicity
Your strength and perseverance during your agony
Thank you Gabbie, for accepting this cross lovingly
Because through it, you have truly inspired many

Though we miss you beyond words, Gabbie,
We are comforted by the fact that you are now happy
Face to face with God, for all eternity
Forever praising Him; sharing in His glory

With the guidance and love of our Mama Mary,
From all pain and suffering, you are now free.
Gabbie, pray for us as we continue life’s journey;
Watch over us and lead us Home, where you are, safely

As much as we miss you, Gabbie, we miss you terribly
You will forever be alive in our heart and in our memory

Tribute to Fr. Francisco Bernardo

Fr. Francisco Bernardo
 ni: John B. Juat

Aking mahal na si Fr. Bernardo

Nature

NATURE
John B. Juat

Have you ever asked why the grass is green?
Or why the rainbows are filled with beauty?
All things on earth is a romantic scene
For God made us part of His love story

Our planet is truly a pleasant place
Birds that chirp and the chilly breeze gives peace
The beauty of nature is part of His grace
I pray that this beauty will never cease

However, our resources do not last
Before we know, all things will be consumed
Will our children see the beauty so vast?
Or will they live on earth already doomed?

Let us all do our part to save this earth
So our kids can see the world in its worth!

Isang Daang Milyon

Isang Daang Milyon
Ni: John B. Juat

Aabot na raw sa isang daang milyon
Ang dami ng ating populasyon
Paano na? Paano na tayo ngayon?
Ano nga ba ang tamang aksyon?

Paano na ang mahihirap na walang makain?
Kaya pa ba natin sila palakihin?
Paano ang mga bata? Kaya ba natin sila paaralin?
Isang daang milyon na tayo. Ano ang ating gagawin?

Isang daang milyon nga tayo, e ano ngayon?

My Everything

MY EVERYTHING
John B. Juat

I
Everytime I see your face
time seems to skip a pace
I hope to be with you 'till the end of days
For you always inspire me to run life's race

II
I do love thee my little queen
your beauty is the best the eye has seen
though imperfect, for me perfect you have been
all of these things I really mean

III
among all I've met, you have the heart of gold
so much is your love, it will never run cold
when you correct me you are always bold
it is your hands I always long to hold

IV
I can never seem to forget your smile
your charming face and your great style
for you I will go the extra mile
If only assured you'll walk with me down the aisle

V
Let me stay in your arms, my dear
I’ll never leave you. I’ll always be here

WISH FOR A FRIEND

WISH FOR A FRIEND
By: John B. Juat

You are someone very blessed
I know you can succeed whatever test
Just go to Him, and you’ll have rest
Before you know it, you’ll be at your best

Stand up, be strong, and have no fear
Just call on me and immediately I’ll be near
When you have things to say, I’ll lend my ear
And for sure I’ll wipe away every drop of tear

You have made me happy and strong
So I’ll be here even when things go wrong
Whatever happens, just thank God in prayer and in song
And you can bet a million angels will be singing along

I hope that you will be happy everyday
For you and your family I will always pray
Follow and love Christ for He is the way
For Joy and peace to be experienced day by day

I will always be here for you
I will be myself, I will be true
You are one of the best friends I ever knew
I will make it a point never to leave you sad and blue

What I wish for you is good health and success
Peace, love, and a lot of happiness
Even though we have our carelessness
Remain brave and show them all you’ve got, no less

Be careful in choosing the path you take
And most especially the friends you make
It’s not only for my joy, but for your sake
So that peace of mind of yours will never be fake

Always be humble and learn from the wise
Some of them may be angels in disguise
Keep in mind that you were bought at a great price
One which needed our Christ’s supreme sacrifice

You really mean a lot to me
I want you to be the best you can be
There is one thing in you that I can clearly see
The love of Jesus in your heart, burning brightly

SUNRISE

SUNRISE

John Walter B. Juat

I woke up and the sky was black
Everything was but a painting

            I waited
And soon the sun greeted me
Its orange rays pampered my skin
Like dew drops drizzling
The chorale of birds began their chants
The bees danced to the music of the wind
The apple-colored bud bloomed to an adult rose
The trees waved its hello to me
The grass bowed down before me
Like a servant to a Chinese emperor
Rainbow butterflies whispered me a love note
The mantis clapped its hands and found its way to play sack race
The fresh breeze kissed me
And the little bushes wiggled their hair

I was sitting all alone
When I heard a voice
He was my dear friend clothed in the sun
He was the boy child Jesus, the master gardener
Along with Him were seven white doves.
He embraced me and said, “Welcome.”
“Welcome to a new day.”

Nightmare

NIGHTMARE
by John B. Juat

All kinds of suffering storming me
like a giant tsunami battering the coast
            broken families
babies screaming within pleading for their lives
street vendors eating only once a day

Meteorites are plunging down
crushing my hopes
of a usual ending in a fairy tale
to a drop of water against the vast ocean.

Daggers are flying at the speed of light
finding its way to my heart

air turns to poison
the breeze touches me like a hurricane
a drizzle comes crushing me like a hundred elephants
and the heavens disintigrate into a dark abyss

I woke up          suddenly
pupils dilated
heart beating ever so quickly
catching my breath
sweat were flowing flooding the floor

i sat
quenched my thirst and screamed

"this is just a nightmare"
